Today we are launching Perinatal Link, a collaborative program from Ouma Health and Millennium Medical Group (MMG) that brings real-time maternal-fetal medicine (MFM) and neonatology to the bedside of community hospitals and critical access facilities. One call. Two specialists. Built and priced for the hospitals the specialty telehealth market left behind.
If your hospital delivers fewer than 1,000 babies a year, this was built for you.
The gap we set out to close
High-risk deliveries do not wait for the right hospital. They happen at 2 a.m., in Level 1 and Level 2 nurseries, in towns where the nearest MFM or neonatologist is a helicopter ride away. Yet for years, tele-MFM and tele-neonatology were designed and priced for large health systems with more than 1,000 annual deliveries. For everyone else, the math never worked. The cost of a traditional program often ran higher than hiring an in-person specialist a smaller hospital could not recruit in the first place, so telehealth simply never got off the ground.
The consequences land on families. A single newborn who has to be transferred to a distant NICU can face an admission that runs well over a quarter of a million dollars, on top of the separation, the travel, and the lost days of parents at the bedside. Behind every one of those transfers is a delivery that might have stayed local, and safely, with the right specialist on the screen.
Perinatal Link changes that equation.
What Perinatal Link delivers
Through a single relationship and a single contract, your hospital gets a complete perinatal safety net:
- Live, real-time MFM consultations across the antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum continuum.
- Live tele-neonatology support for neonatal resuscitation, stabilization, management, and transport decisions.
- Both specialties coordinated when clinical complexity demands it, so your team is never choosing between the mother's expert and the baby's.
- Evidence-based protocols and transfer criteria developed for your hospital's specific setting and level of nursery, not a generic template.
- Documentation and order communication that fit into the workflows your team already uses.
- No technology or platform fees. Everything you need. Nothing you're forced to buy.
Together, Ouma and MMG bring a combined depth of MFM and neonatology experience, with a model designed from the ground up for sub-1,000 delivery hospitals.
Why the two of us, together
"Community hospitals have been underserved by the existing teleMFM market for too long, as our industry decided years ago that a hospital delivering 400 babies wasn't worth serving. We think those 400 mothers disagree," said Sina Haeri, MD, MHSA, CEO of Ouma Health. "Partnering with MMG allows us to offer something the market has never seen: a single, affordable, fully integrated MFM and neonatology solution for the hospitals that need it most."
"Neonatal emergencies don't announce themselves, and they don't only happen at large academic medical centers," said Snehal Doshi, MD, CEO of Millennium Medical Group. "Joining forces with Ouma through Perinatal Link gives us the ability to deliver a comprehensive perinatal safety net at a price point that finally makes sense for community hospitals."
Ouma is the nation's largest tele-MFM specialty practice. MMG has spent years building real-time neonatology coverage for exactly these communities. Perinatal Link is what happens when both sides of the perinatal continuum arrive as one program.
Who it's for
Perinatal Link is built for community hospitals, critical access hospitals, and rural facilities with Level 1 and Level 2 nurseries, including the family-medicine-led OB units that keep maternity care alive in so many towns. If your L&D team has ever managed a high-risk delivery or an unexpected resuscitation while waiting to reach a specialist, this is the program designed for that moment.
